AK-47 Airsoft

Today we’re going to review the Aftermath Kraken AK-47 - a low-priced, high quality gun, perfect for intermediate players, or players with a budget.

It’s an awesome gun.

Honestly, you can’t compare it to the $500+ wood replica guns with crazy FPS, but this is the alternative which will give a competitive edge on the field, without the priceyness. With it’s solid look and feel, slightly heavy weight, and part metal build, it’ll make friends jealous immediately – as was my case, even for friends who never played airsoft in their lives.

The Video

(Deactivate HD if you have slow internet connection or loading problems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8gBjc-zJ34 )

The Pros

  • Great, reliable shooting
  • Feels slightly heavy, looks realistic
  • Very affordable price compared to similar AEG’s
  • Powerful at 370fps
  • High capacity magazine

The Cons

  • Not as realistic looking as wood replicas
  • Lower rate of fire per second compared to other higher-end AEG’s.  This is good in way, as you save ammo. But not as good for simply wiping out your enemy. Nevertheless it’s good enough for intermediate/hardcore games where very high rates of fire are not needed.
  • Loud shooting noise. Sounds nice, but perhaps not so good for stealth tactics.

The Verdict

Overall, I love this gun. Affordable, yet very competitive on the field, it’s a great gun for starters, intermediate players, and players with a budget. The Kraken AK-47 is sure to deliver the playing experience you want with its power and reliability. Hardcore players with more cash on hand can easily go for more expensive guns.

Where to buy?

I have to recommend Velocity Arms (located in the GTA), if you are in Canada. That is where I bought my gun. So far no problems, and the product shipped in a few days (well I’m in Toronto anyway). I’m very happy with them. You can see the product page here…

    Nice review man!
I also have the Kraken (with OD Handguards)and its fired 20,000 rounds without any problems. I ended up converting it into an RPK-74! Highly recommend it! I moved on to the Velocity Arms M4-S System recently. That is also a great gun.

  5. These days, the air-soft weapons have become much more professional as there has been hybrid pistols developed. These types of guns have a more substantial dosage of truth blended in. The plastic pellets are clothed in cartridges. Quite simply, each and every time you fire the marker, a shell casing is ejected.
